The images come from a cold day last year when the crows gathered by the hundreds on
the banks of the Mississippi to stay warm and to socialize. I have since learned that crows have a highly structured social system based on the extended family unit. To see them
come together as a larger community and to hear their noisy caw-cus is awe inspiring and raucously delightful.
