From binding students’ writing projects to encouraging creative expression, the book arts provide wonderful ways to reinforce learning.

Making books is a great way to engage students in their learning while practicing fine motor skills, enhancing math and science understanding, and supporting literacy. MCBA offers a wide variety of Educator Workshops in printing, papermaking, paper decoration, and bookmaking to enable teachers to bring book arts into their classrooms.

MCBA offers 1- to 3-hour workshops for individual educators and groups, with a focus on classroom instruction and connections to curricula. Participants create samples to keep for reference. Workshops for individuals are offered in our studios. Group workshops are also available, and can be held at MCBA or at your site. Choose from among standard educator workshops, or call 612-215-2529 to discuss options for a customized topic.

For teachers experienced in bookmaking, MCBA can prepare class sets of bookmaking materials. This service is offered on a case by case basis, depending upon staff availability. For more information, call 612-215-2529.

Looking to earn Continuing Education Credits? All of MCBA’s adult classes and workshops, including Educator Workshops, are eligible for CEUs. Just let us know when you register, and we’ll prepare the documentation. These workshops are also eligible for credit toward MCBA’s Core Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Book Arts; more information is available on the Certificate Programs page.

Register ONLINE using the buttons below, IN PERSON at The Shop at MCBA, or BY PHONE at 612-215-2520.
