with Erica Spitzer Rasmussen
Saturdays: June 17 & 24; 10am-4pm
All skill levels welcome
This class explores simple yet elegant methods of manipulating paper into three dimensional forms. With the assistance of prefabricated molds and handmade armatures, students produce traditional and non-traditional vessel forms. Low shrinkage fibers are used in conjunction with the following techniques: laminating, pulp pouring, pulp casting. Surfacing and finishing methods are addressed as well. These techniques can be applied to other sculptural forms.
