Many Muslim and Eastern Christian manuscripts bear texts and images that are intended to combat evil influences from the supernatural world. In this presentation, David Calabro (Ph. D., HMML Curator) explores the development of these manuscripts up to the nineteenth century, with emphasis on their enduring place in Middle Eastern society.
