Andrew Hoyem

The Athenaeum and Minnesota Center for Book Arts was thrilled that Andrew Hoyem, printer-publisher of Arion Press in San Francisco, was at the opening reception. Founded in 1974, the Arion Press is known for its exacting standards and skilled craftsmanship of the fine printing tradition. Critics consider the handset folio edition of Moby-Dick a "majestic volume," among Arion’s "virtuoso performances." The Folio Bible (2000) is a monument to the scriptures, to fine typography and to bookmaking. Mr. Hoyem is also a published poet and exhibited artist.
