GOSSIP–an installation created By Design
GOSSIP explores how words transform, progress, and change. As instigator or recipient, we have all been involved in a tangle, pattern or pathway of gossip. With the help of visiting artist Tom Rose, ten teen artists have incorporated text and metaphor into an interactive installation piece.

Who are the By Design artists?
With the generous support of the Surdna Foundation, ten talented emerging artists have been working together in the studios at MCBA for the last nine months. These students have developed creatively while learning the ins and outs of papermaking, letterpress printing, bookbinding and how to respond to and talk about their art. They've also been working one-on-one with artist mentors and local and national book artists to create a body of work for this exhibit. Their commitment and diligence is evident in the new and exciting artwork they have created.
