Biography

Cecilia Lieder is a Duluth artist who has been writing, designing and creating books for several years. She is the owner of Calyx Press Duluth, a small press that publishes artists' books of many kinds. With this book she has combined her love of poetry, artist-made prints, letterpress printing on fine papers, and hand binding.

Donald Dass has been writing poetry for the past 15 years, with an appreciation for this art that extends back years earlier. Dass frequently uses themes and images borrowed from local folklore to examine the brooding mystery, whimsy, and frustration he finds inherent in the interaction between the physical, emotional and psychic environment of the western Lake Superior region.
