Minnesota Center for Book Arts is located on the first floor of the Open Book building:
1011 Washington Avenue S., Suite 100
Minneapolis MN 55415
The Open Book building is located in downtown Minneapolis on Washington Ave. S. between 10th and 11th Avenues, near the US Bank Stadium and just across I-35W from the University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus.
Limited free parking is available in the Open Book lot adjacent to the building. Please do not park in spaces reserved for building tenants or staff.
Events in the building may limit availability of spaces in the Open Book lot. Metered street parking, pay lots and public ramps are all available nearby. Stadium events can affect parking availability in our neighborhood. Parking meters are typically active until 10pm; read the signs carefully.
Reserved handicapped parking spaces are located near both the front and rear entrances to the building.
Bus: MCBA is located on Metro Transit bus routes 7 and 22. The nearest stop is at Washington Ave. S. and 11th St., just down the block from Open Book’s front doors.
Rail: We are located five blocks east of the Downtown East/US Bank Stadium light rail station.
Bicycle: Bike racks are available at the front of the building along Washington Ave., as well as at the rear entrance of the building.
Visitors are always welcome in MCBA’s gallery and studios. For college classes and private groups, MCBA offers group tours in which your class or organization can learn about the history of MCBA, the programs offered here, and a bit about the book arts field in general. While touring our studios, participants will learn about the traditional book-related practices such as papermaking, letterpress printing and bookbinding. We also offer custom workshops for groups and organizations. Workshop topics are hands-on; options include letterpress printing, binding a book, and much more.
Fees for group tours and custom workshops vary by the size of the group and content of the workshop activity. For more information or to schedule your group tour, contact email@example.com.
