FAMILY WORKSHOPS

Join MCBA staff to create fun and unique books, paper and printmaking projects. Learn about the techniques, processes and tools you are using while exploring the world of book arts. Workshops are designed for families with school-age children; please see descriptions for specific appropriate age ranges.

Children ages 9 and up may take workshops independently or with an adult. Each participant (children and adults) will receive materials; adult/child pairs may choose to work side-by-side or together. All supply fees are now included in workshop tuition.

Please make every effort to register AT LEAST one week in advance of any workshop. Decisions about whether to cancel workshops or add sections are typically made one week prior to the start of workshops.

Register online: simply add the desired workshop(s) to your shopping cart, then check out through PayPal (you do not need to have a PayPal account). Alternately, you can register by phone at 612-215-2520, or register in person at The Shop at MCBA.

Celebrate Earth Day!
with Ellen L. Ferrari
Saturday, April 20, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
For families with children age 2 and up

Anne Rockwell's Our Earth kicks off our celebration. Pull circle sheets of white cotton paper and color with ocean blue, land green and more. Decorate with recycled yarns, shredded papers and cut outs of people, plants and animals. Plant seeds in your paper, too! Waterproof shoes suggested.

Join Ellen Ferrari for Saturday mornings of family book arts fun! Each workshop starts off with a story and game to warm up your creativity and then dives into a book arts project. Workshops accommodate a range of developmental levels so that adults and children (or adult/child teams) may choose to work together or side-by-side. Each participant receives supplies to use during the workshop, but may choose to bring one set home if working with his or her partner. Ellen will provide older children with suggestions for extending their learning.

$30 ($27 members) per adult/child pair; $15 ($14) each additional participant

Registration for this workshop is now closed.
