Art Practice Circle: Winter Series

with Laura Brown
Mondays: January 9, February 6, March 6, April 3; 7–8:30pm CT

Would you like to attend all four Art Practice Circle meetings this winter? Register for them all at once and receive a discount!

Art Practice Circle meets virtually and offers a friendly community space to listen and share about artmaking. The benefits of connecting with fellow makers are multiple: to inspire and encourage one another, to be an audience for one another’s work and creative process, and to move our work forward by talking about it out loud. This monthly gathering will provide time for each person to share about their work—a particular work in progress, an idea that needs exploring, or a struggle with a specific work—as well as a conversation about what inspires us and strategies for tracking progress.  Recommended for those who practice some form of book arts (book/paper/print) or related process (such as calligraphy, papercutting, marbling, etc.).

All skill levels welcome
Certificate: 6 hours, Category B or C

$23 for BIPOC participants
We are offering a scholarship rate to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) participants to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom this does not apply, register at the rate listed first and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarship rates available.

What you’ll need to participate
Tech requirements: For this participatory virtual gathering, we recommend joining on a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, if possible. You will receive step-by-step instructions for downloading Zoom (it’s free!) and accessing the workshop online approximately 2 days before the workshop’s start date.
Materials: Please bring something to share with the group related to your art practice: a work in progress, an idea that needs exploring, or a struggle with a specific work.

Please note: Registration closes 1/5 at midnight (CT).
