Great for beginners
Whether you are a professional illustrator or someone who likes filling a sketchbook with doodles, learn basic binding techniques to make your own sketchbooks! Learn a simple sewing stitch to create a double signature pamphlet with papers that are ideal for watercolor and pen work. You will choose a cover paper and determine the size for your first sketchbook. Then, build your skills by making a hardcover concertina, also called an accordion or leporello. With reusable covers, the pages of this binding can easily be replaced to create a new sketchbook. After learning these techniques, participants will be able to make these bindings again and again.
