“Book art is a text-based endeavor for me. I can’t draw, but I can manipulate images with computers and I can trace. These are my first efforts to include images in my printing, with assistance from stencils and a Gelli® plate.”

“Inspired by a literal interpretation of the Bound/Unbound theme of this exhibition, my work represented here includes a tricky binding challenge and an experience untethered to my comfort zone. Once I learned a case binding I designed and bound a bunch of books from Project Gutenberg texts. The biggest challenge was figuring out how to arrange (impose) pages to end up in the right order after folding and assembling. This book, two texts starting from the outside in, was the most vexing.”
