with Micheal Benedetti
Saturday-Sunday, February 22-23; 10am-5pm
This two-day workshop will introduce the versatility of color layering combined with photo-realistic imagery using CMYK screen printing. CMYK printing involves layering cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to create an expansive range of colors depending on the transparency and opacity of the four CMYK colors. Participants will experiment with photo-realistic imagery, stencil creation involving halftone patterning and/or hand-drawn stencils, ink mixing, and photo emulsion screen developing. Participants will create a small standard edition or varied edition of their own CMYK screenprints and leave with a set of new techniques that can be applied to multiple print processes as well as other printmaking endeavors. Intro to screenprinting or equivalent experience required.
