Map Folds: More Than What Meets the Eye

with Laurel Jedamus
Thursday, December 7; 6–9pm CT

A map fold is a large sheet of paper that gracefully collapses, when folded, into a book. Map folds are an ingenious way to include a larger map, image, or artwork into a book. They also offer a way to enhance a simple book structure with a unique sculptural element. In this in-person workshop, learn two styles of map folds: a Turkish map fold and a Hungarian map fold. Then, learn a method for including map folds in a pamphlet stitch book and in a simple cover.
