A bone folder. That—and an hour of your time—is all you’ll need to assemble this deceptively simple blank book. But don’t let the simplicity of the preparation fool you; this structure is elegant, flexible, and altogether ready to receive your words and images. Outfitted with a kit of pre-cut pieces, you’ll fold creases and lock tabs until this compact binding is complete. Beginners are encouraged to attend!
In addition to a bone folder, you may choose to have the following tools available for this workshop: a craft knife, self-healing mat, and tweezers.
All skill levels welcome

MCBA offers two scholarship types for workshops—Financial Hardship Scholarships and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Scholarships—to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
