Pointed Pen Calligraphy I

with Kris MacDonald
Saturdays: March 23, 30; 1-4pm

Copperplate is a script style of calligraphy that gets its unique look from the use of a flexible, pointed pen nib that allows variations in thickness by writing with pressure on the downstroke and release on the upstroke. Beginning in the 18th century, it filled the need for a business correspondence script until the arrival of the typewriter. This small, elegant, fun-to-write hand will be used to letter a personal greeting.
