Power of the Press: Letterpress Poster Workshop
Community organizations, college classes, and corporate teams are invited to schedule private letterpress workshops in MCBA’s studios! Our signature offering, Power of the Press, provides an overview of the history of the printing press as a tool for sharing information, as well as the experience of setting wood type and printing a message by hand.
Each workshop begins with a brief introduction to MCBA followed by a hands-on activity. Workshops are 2 hours long and have a 15-person maximum. Additional participants may be accommodated in a separate scheduled workshop (up to four groups can be scheduled at a time).
Interested in a tour? Guided educational tours of MCBA studios are available to community organizations, college groups, corporate retreats, and everyone! Learn more and request a tour here.
Looking for school field trips? MCBA is exploring new ways to engage youth in book arts. Share your information here, if you’d like to be contacted for new youth opportunities at MCBA. We’re glad to offer free, pre-recorded book arts instructional videos to support teachers, students, and community groups, wherever they are learning.
