Sculptural Papermaking

with Anna Haglin
Saturdays: February 12, 19; 1–4pm CT

Take handmade paper into the third dimension! Create paper vessels, learn pulp-dipping, and play with high-shrinkage abaca fiber. This in-person workshop will include demonstrations, work time, and group discussion. Emphasis will be on play and exploring new forms. All disciplines and skill levels are encouraged.

Instruction will cover pulp preparation specific to sculptural papermaking, but this workshop by itself will not qualify you to use beater equipment independently. Likewise, the technique of “sheet-forming” or pulling sheets of paper from a vat of pulp will be shown and practiced, but emphasis will not be on quality of sheets or technique. If you are interested in building these skills, European Papermaking (offered approximately every 3-4 months) is the workshop for you!

All skill levels welcome
