Structure and Content Woven Together

with Chip Schilling
Mondays, April 20, 27, May 4, 11; 6-9pm

In Book Arts, structure is as equally important as form and content. The woven tab structure generates many ideas for content which will be explored in this class. Learn the woven tab binding structure developed by Hedi Kyle, and get an introduction to letterpress printing for some of the text in your book. Discussions of content and idea generation will take place along with demonstrations of reproduction techniques and decorative techniques for print and binding. Leave the class with a finished book and ideas for how structure and content work together to create a cohesive book. Some bookbinding experience required.
