The German Stiffened-Paper Binding features a double-fan adhesive binding—a quick, sturdy, and useful method for binding single sheets without sewing. Thick card or thin boards glued directly to the outer leaves make a rigid cover. The book is covered in a single piece of paper that is fully adhered to the spine and boards.
The Double Pamphlet with Tipped Wrapper is a satisfying solution for a two-signature text block. The signatures are sewn back-to-back with a single pamphlet stitch. A simple wrapper of text-weight paper is tipped to the text block at the spine and at the fore edges. Come away from the workshop with two finished books, plus detailed instructions, which will be a valuable reference for future work.
This fast-paced virtual workshop is appropriate for intermediate binders and beginners who are ready for their next challenge.

For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
