“I chose to be represented in the 2020 Collective Show Bound/Unbound by a series of cloches that represent chapters deep within my mind. Each cloche represents a memory within me, sitting on a base that forms a vacuum so that each memory is sealed but can be viewed from the outside. While some of the cloches have memories that are pleasant, there are some that are too painful for even me to look at, but I let the viewer get a glance into these chapters. The Early Years represents memories of my growing up with the books that I loved and the different path my life has taken. Gearing Up is about what is formulating and gearing up to handle my post-college years and what lay before me. Ancestral Tree is about how I recently discovered that I did have an ancestral tree and trying to figure out how to fill all the empty chapters, wondering who were all of these individuals and how shall I write about them. A Brother’s Loss is a book that I wished there was not a reason for it to be made.”
