Paper Marbling for Preschoolers!

with Ellen Ferrari
Saturday, August 31; 10am–12pm CT

Be amazed by Shaheen Bilgrami’s Magical Day at the Mall and then amaze yourself by painting ON WATER! In this in-person workshop, preschoolers learn the art of marbling using specially prepared carrageenan water, alum-treated paper, and acrylic paint. Preschoolers build fine motor skills while they create colorful patterns with tools like forks, toothpicks, skewers, and straws. Then, discover art projects you can do with your marbled paper!

Preschoolers grow their interest in books and visual arts and feel pride as they engage in artmaking in a book arts studio regularly accessed by working artists. Ellen designed this workshop to meet preschoolers where they are in their development and interests.

Please wear clothing/shoes fit for wet work (eg. rain boots, crocs, water resistant shoes).

One registration includes one adult and one child. This workshop is ideal for children ages 2–6. Caregiver tip: Sign up with your preschooler’s friend and caregiver!

For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
*If either person in the pair (child or caregiver) is eligible for a
scholarship, choose the scholarship option at registration.
