The expressive artistry of papercraft is a cornerstone of the book arts. This spring, MCBA is pleased to join with the American Swedish Institute (ASI) in celebrating the long-standing Nordic tradition of papercutting (or “psaligraphy”) through Papercut! — a series of programs centering around an extraordinary exhibition of work by Danish-Norwegian paper artist Karen Bit Vejle (pictured at left). The series also includes interactive hands-on family programs, a residency with Minneapolis paper artist Sonja Peterson, panel discussions, a world premiere performance by Open Eye Figure Theatre, and several paper-themed workshops offered by MCBA artist instructors.
