MCBA is teaming up with Mia to present Virtual Third Thursday: Discovering Book Arts!
Mark your calendars for this video introduction to book arts hosted by Madeline Garcia, MCBA Lead Teaching Artist and resident celebrity from our Virtual Fold-Alongs and Mail is Magic series. Get an up-close look at Harriet Bart: Artist Books + Works on Paper, an exhibition currently on view at Mia, then treat yourself to two hands-on lessons!
If you want to prepare in advance to make your own accordion book and single-sheet zine as you watch, you can start by gathering these simple household materials:
– Two 8 ½ x 11 in. sheets of paper
– A bone folder (or replacement like a smooth pen or butterknife)
– Scissors
