Minnesota Center for Book Arts is pleased to be a co-host of this 2-day symposium featuring a curated slate of presentations, artist panels, and workshops led by esteemed historians, bibliographers, archivists, librarians, typographers, designers, printers, and book artists of all kinds. Participants will engage in collaborative learning, shared visual and performing arts experiences, and hands-on Hebrew printing opportunities.

Artist Panel: Shift-lab

Shift-lab is Katie Baldwin, Denise Bookwalter, Sarah Bryant, Macy Chadwick, and Tricia Treacy. This collective of five women artists—working across the United States—has produced print and book-based projects for more than a decade. Since 2013, Shift-lab has cultivated a collaborative practice through writing, curating, and making print- and book-based projects. In this virtual artist panel, learn more about Shift-lab’s collaborative process and the interdisciplinary work that seeks to find the intersections among language, sequence, structure, and narrative.

New Editions is a biennial pop-up showcase and sale of new artists’ prints and publications in the Main Gallery at MCBA. Kicking off with a ticketed preview party on Friday night,  the sale continues on Saturday, featuring artists’ books, photo books, chapbooks, zines, broadsides, and hand-printed work by artists from around the country.
